The Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA) has moved its services online to reduce transaction costs for traders and promote ease of doing business.

All manual and physical services are now available through the Ethiopian Chamber Digital Service (ECDS). Shava TV reports that chamber members, the business community and the public can access trade-facilitation services at any time, and companies can register and renew their membership online and pay fees electronically.

The ECDS has also automated chamber services such as trade and investment promotion; legal counselling and arbitration; as well as the chamber academy – offering visitors an easily accessible one-stop shop.

To enhance the issuance of certificates of origin and other trade functions, the system is integrated with the Ethiopian Electronic Single Window System, which allows traders to submit all import and export requirements in bulk, as well as mobile-money service Telebirr.
