Intelligent design North Africa is to get its first AI and robotics lab. The state-of-the-art training lab will be set up at the campus of Egypt’s Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport, reports Africa Tech. ‘We are very excited to introduce this game-changer lab exclusively for our students and the institution and can’t wait to see the positive impact it will have on our community,’ says Ismail Abdel Ghafar, president of the academy. US educational robotics company RobotLAB will supply the turnkey modular AI Lab, which will feature eight stations ranging from a human-robot interaction station to an underwater robotics station. As students rotate from one station to the next, they will get hands-on experience of multiple AI disciplines and scenarios. As part of the agreement between the two organisations, RobotLAB will also host academy students at its facilities in California and Texas. 19 July 2022 Image: Gallo/Getty Images
