Hops potential Mozambique will soon be host to a huge brewery. Developed by AB InBev, the world’s biggest brewing company, it will produce more than 2 million hectolitres (hl) of beer a year. Construction will commence in the second half of 2018, Moneyweb reports. The investment value has not yet been disclosed, but land acquired for the project will allow for further expansion. The company’s plans also include Tanzania, where the company intends to invest US$100 million in a new 1 million hl -per-annum brewery. ‘We’re very excited about Africa because we have experience in Latin America and Asia,’ says AB InBev CEO Carlos Brito. ‘Some people look at Africa and see a lot of volatility, uncertainty. We see opportunity.’ 14 August 2018 Image: Gallo/Getty Images
