Higher learning A new private university campus is to open in Sandton, Johannesburg, in time for the 2026 academic year. Businesstech reports that ADvTECH Group, which owns Varsity College and Crawford International, will invest ZAR419 million in the campus over the next two years. The 47 000 m2 campus on Grayston Drive, based at the site of the old FNB training and conference centre in South Africa’s financial capital, will accommodate 9 000 students, including from Varsity College Sandton and Vega Bordeaux, which will be relocated. The group is aiming to achieve full university accreditation from the government, with the new campus offering undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications. The Competition Commission has already given the go-ahead for the acquisition of the Sandton land. 8 October 2024 Image: Flickr
