Operations at Ghana’s open-pit Bibiani mine have commenced.

This follows the approval of environmental and operating permits, which Asante Gold Corporation applied for after acquiring the mine in August 2021.

According to Dave Anthony, Asante COO, ‘all activities and initiatives needed to bring the Bibiani mine to production of gold at Q3 2022 are on track’.

The mine plans to produce approximately 175 000 oz of gold during its first year of operation, thereafter ramping that up to 220 000 oz to 270 000 oz annually for at least seven years.
