Revenue service Taxpayers in Ghana will soon be able to submit all their tax documents online. The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) launched its new electronic tax clearance certificates platform on 31 March, according to ITWeb. Users will be able to generate tax clearance certificates, file tax returns and check compliance status. At the launch, Ghana’s Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia said the government had introduced ‘digital remedies’ such as the new app ‘to revolutionise the manual ways of providing services in the public service’. He said the platform would work with the country’s digital ID card, called Ghana Card, which was introduced in 2017. ‘In effect, your Ghana Card is your reference for registration, filing of returns, making payments of tax due and accessing other services provided by GRA,’ he said. 11 April 2023 Image: Pexels
