Flight plan A suite of development deals is set to bolster the aviation sector in four African countries. Africa Business Communities reports that the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has signed agreements with South Africa, Uganda, Chad and Gabon. The ICAO will help Gabon’s civil aviation authority to draw up a master plan to develop – in an efficient, safe and sustainable manner – the country’s aviation infrastructure and services. The organisation will, meanwhile, help Chad to assess its aviation training needs, and it will work with Uganda to devise a 15-year air navigation plan that aligns with international standards. According to its agreement with the ICAO, South Africa will host the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals Summit in Johannesburg, February 2025. 20 August 2024 Image: Freepik
