An e-learning platform has been launched to help vineyard workers in South Africa’s wine industry hone their skills.

Launched by Vinpro and Winetech People Development, the platform is designed to train people across the wine industry value chain in a simple and accessible format, according to Vinpro.

Vinpro has been conducting annual vineyard worker training over the past seven years via a 10-module DVD package, which is now available online. The modules cover pruning, vineyard establishment, vine development, canopy management, soil management, identification of diseases and pests, irrigation, fertilisation, wine grape harvesting and soil science.

The platform is available to wine companies through a one-year licence.
