RWANDA Having been at risk of extinction due to uncontrolled hunting, war and destruction of its forest habitat, conservation efforts have seen mountain gorilla numbers grow. Many live in the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, which was a base for the zoologist Dian Fossey.
