Work has commenced on the Berbera-Togochale corridor, which will link the important Berbera port in Somaliland with the Ethiopian border town of Togochale.

Phase 1 of the three-stage project will span 72 km, as reported by Global Construction Review. The link, which supports the port’s expansion plans, is expected to boost the economic relationship between Ethiopia and the self-declared state, while promoting regional integration.

Construction is expected to take between 18 and 22 months to complete.
